The forthcoming World of Warcraft movie will include a lot of special effects as Director Duncan Jones said today during an appearance at Blizzcon. Jones has previously directed Moon in addition to Source Code, described the film to be "Avatar as well as Lord of the Rings at the simultaneously" in relation the special effects.
The special effects in World of Warcraft are being managed by the award-winning Star Wars studio Industrial Light & Magic. The film will incorporate an amalgamation of live-action and CGI as well as the overall style has been described previously as "gritty and authentic."
Filming for World of Warcraft wrapped up in May 2013 and a rough version of the film's final version has been shown before Blizzard management. Final version will be released to cinemas on March 11 in 2016.
