Skin care for teens can be challenging. Around the ages of 13-18, you generally begin experiencing changes with your skin amidst a fluctuation of hormones. To avoid feeling self-conscious in your skin, establish a routine that involves cleansing, exfoliating, toning, and moisturizing.

Cleanse

Begin your routine by washing your face. Cleansing will help to remove any impurities and excess oils that are trapped on the surface of your skin. To get a clean and fresh face, try Clean and Clear Continuous Control. It works immediately to get deep within the pores and prevent breakouts from coming back. The goal is to kill the bacteria with these products, however, they may develop and become resistant, so it is recommended to switch up your routine. Use the Clean and Clear cleanser Monday to Friday and then alternate with Neutrogena Rapid Clear cleanser on Saturday and Sunday. If you find that you are breaking out or need a change, use Neutrogena Deep Clean Gentle Scrub. Start by using it twice a week so that your skin can get used to it before building up to more frequently.

Exfoliate

Exfoliation is a crucial step in your skin care routine.

It removes dry, flaky skin, improves circulation and refreshes and brightens your face and neck. But remember not all exfoliation products are made equal. You don’t want to buy cheap products as the exfoliator may cause damage to your skin. Two of my favorite and trusted products are ZO Skin Health Exfoliating Polish, or Era Organics’ Natural Exfoliating Face Mask with Manuka Honey & Walnut you can’t beat these highly rated exfoliants!

Tone

Using a toner can help you achieve healthy glowing skin without an oily complexion. Its main function, alongside a cleanser, is to clean your skin by removing the dust, pollution, and impurities that may still be lingering. A product such as Aveeno Clear Complexion Daily Cleansing Pads will clear things up and prevent breakouts while leaving your skin feeling calm, clear, and rebalanced. When applying toner, avoid using full cotton pads as it wastes too much product. Instead, try cutting the pads in half to conserve the product and lightly paint it on your skin.

Moisturize and Apply SPF Protection

Many people with oily skin assume that because their skin looks hydrated, they should just ditch the moisturizer. Moisturizing helps to hydrate your skin, though! Avoid a heavy cream that sits on your skin, traps your pores, and causes breakouts. In addition to moisturizing, don’t forget to protect your skin by applying SPF coverage.
