As you enter each decade, you will need to change up your skin care routine to address new concerns. Later in life, you may begin to experience the negative effects that estrogen has on your face and neck, an increase of fine lines, and flaky, dull looking skin.

We are ready to combat aging skin with you! Read more to see the perfect skin care routine in your 50s and 60s:

Cleanse Your Face Every Day

Regardless of your age, cleansing is crucial to maintaining healthy looking and feeling skin. One of the main benefits of washing your face is removing the oil, dirt, and debris that builds up throughout the day.

By washing your face daily, you are removing impurities like bacteria, pollutants, viruses, dirt, and dead skin cells, and allowing your face to look fresher and prevent the chances of your pores becoming clogged which can result in blackheads, whiteheads, and acne.

Use a Toner After Washing

Never underestimate the power of toner as it has so many great benefits for your skin. Toners are most effective when applied with a cotton ball after cleansing and patting the face dry with a towel.

The toner will remove oils that were missed when cleansing which will help to shrink pores, restore your skin’s PH balance, and refresh your skin. It can also help to close pores and tighten cell gaps which reduces the impurities and environmental contaminants that enter the skin, which promotes better anti-aging practices

Take Care of Problem Skin

At this age, you will begin to notice deeper fine lines, redness or the appearance of small veins around the nose, thinner skin, and sun damage. Consider using retinol or a product containing tretinoin as it helps to thicken the skin with an increase in collagen and elastin development.

In doing this, you will thicken the dermis and and help the sun to maintain it’s healthy look. Laser therapy can aid in reducing the veins around your nose.

Intense Pulsed Light Therapy (IPL) is a type of therapy used to treat wrinkles, spots, and unwanted hair. You can use IPL to treat a number of problems including varicose veins, rosacea, freckles, or birthmarks.
